Erdogan opponents fear historic vote threatens liberty

Turkish citizens will vote next month on a referendum that would grant President Recep Tayyip Erdogan controversial new powers. The referendum is happening at a time of heightened political tension, with an ongoing purge of tens of thousands of government employees and concern that secularism is being threatened.
