The D.C. Booth Fish Hatchery opened in 1899 and provided fish for the Black Hills and far beyond. The facility closed, but re-opened as the D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery & Archive. It is operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
