[theme music] We're here at Camp Grounded in Navarro, California.
It's a typical summer camp with swimming and archery and badges.
Except it's for adults who want to disconnect from technology.
[music playing] So now rules at the camp are-- Don't talk about work, W. And no digital technology.
It's a digital detox.
So no screens, no iPods, no nanos, no digital cameras.
And also we ask that people skip instead of run.
So no running?
Only during Capture the Flag.
So we take people through a tech check.
We help rid you of all your devices.
You don't have anything with you?
No.
[detector beeps] What do you have in your pocket over here?
Oh, the-- Yeah, let me hold on to that.
That's the one.
You got it.
You got us.
[detector beeps] Oh, one over here.
Oh, you have another phone.
OK. (WHISPERING) Burner in the foot.
I get to go up in front of everybody and question.
Like, how many people check their email every morning from bed?
How many people eat all of their meals a day with a screen in front of them?
How many people want to do that?
We can come in.
Make sure we walk into this one the right away.
[shutter clicks] (WHISPERING) Snapchat, no one will ever know.
Yes.
One bar.
We're missing so much.
Joe's engaged.
Really?
The thing is, if I don't-- it'll just take two seconds.
CROWD: (SINGING) Meow, meow-meow, meow, meow, meow.
Meow, meow, meow-meow, meow.
[chanting and stomping] This is cuddle therapy, right?
Are you tickling my back?
No, that's someone else.
Oh, it feels nice.
This is acro yoga.
What was the movie with Patrick Swayze?
"Dirty Dancing"?
"Dirty Dancing."
I shouldn't have had that pickle.
Did you ever see "True Detective"?
No.
I don't want to ruin it for you, but a little bit of that.
A big piece behind the scenes of the playfulness and fun is the conversation of, what worlds do we want to be creating so our kids and grandkids grow up in a space that is really good for them and not a place of scarcity and fear and even digital addiction.
Can we stay the weekend?
Yeah, I mean, I think so.
STEVE GOLDBLOOM: It'll be so much fun.
We'll sleep over.
And we can sleep in here if we want to sleep.
You'll be fine.
Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.
Reno.
I'm sorry.
That's great.
I think I-- hold on.
Just keep going.
New age.
Reno!
I'm sorry.
(CHUCKLING) OK. You don't have to scream.
(WHISPERING) I just have to send one quick not to somebody.
It's not even for me.
It's for something else.
It's her birthday.
