This Week at Lincoln Center: “The King and I”

One of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most popular works, “The King and I” is set in Bangkok during the 1860’s. The musical tells the story of the unconventional relationship that develops between the King of Siam and a Welsh schoolteacher, hired to tutor his many wives and children. The exuberant revival directed by Bartlett Sher features Kelli O’Hara as Anna Leonowens and Ken Watanabe as the King.
