Poultry is Virginia’s largest commodity, & it’s Rockingham County that was once known as the turkey capital of the world. In fact today’s modern poultry practices of using brooder houses instead of a free range was started by R.B. Strickler and Charles Wampler, Sr. of Harrisonburg. We were given the unique opportunity to see the poultry production process from start to finish.
