Ostad Elahi (1895-1974) was an Iranian born musician and philosopher. During his lifetime the traditions of the ancient world gave way to the modern age, yet Elahi managed to stay faithful to both. Ken Moore, Curator of the Department of Musical Instruments at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, guides NYC-ARTS through the intimate exhibition “The Sacred Lute: The Art of Ostad Elahi.”
