U.S. Department of Justice it is estimated that 10% of all law enforcement calls in our country have some connection to mental illness. Statistics show the burden on police officers and deputies to handle mental illness episodes is on the rise. We looks at the need for law enforcement & how one eastern NC family works to make sure more officers are trained in Crisis Intervention Team Training.
