  • Aired: 12/02/2013

Mary Kolb, the “Zipper Lady,” has repaired over 1300 coat zippers for Clothes for Kids. This project keeps kids warm, and keeps jackets out of landfills. Mary gives a brief rundown on the process she uses to repair a zipper if all parts have been saved. Her advice for zipper longevity is to teach children to pull zipper tab upward to close or push downward to open—don’t pull straight out.
