The University of North Carolina at Asheville is one of the smallest of the institutions in the UNC system. But Chancellor Anne Ponder makes a good point when she says the school is a MAJOR player in Western North Carolina. A recent economic impact study conducted by the school reports that UNCA supports approximately 2600 jobs in the region & has an economic impact of $268 Million.
