This has been an amazing week in Texas politics. A minority of the United States House of Representatives led by a Texas Senator shut down the federal government. Democrats are actually excited over a candidate for governor. Her running mate may well be a San Antonian. A conservative San Antonio city councilwoman has declared she will take on an incumbent state senator who has Tea Party backing.
