Majora Carter studied at Wesleyan University and NYU. Afterwards, she became an ambassador for the environment, receiving accolades like the MacArthur "Genius Grant" Fellowship. In 2001, Carter started the Sustainable South Bronx program and then founded the Majora Carter Group in 2008. Today, the NY Times-dubbed "Green Power Broker" spearheads her consulting firm and hosts "The Promised Land."
