TEXAS WEEK

January 27, 2012 | STAAR vs. TAKS

  • Aired: 01/27/2012
  • 28:30
  • Rating: NR
The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness or STAAR test will be given to students in Texas in two months. This replaces the old TAKS test. But unlike TAKS this test will count for 15 percent of a students grade in each course. There is concern that this new test could affect student grade point averages and class ranking which can affect entrance into college.
