Skilled woodworker and mechanic J.E. Hamilton stumbled upon a growing need for large wooden type used in print shops. He developed his own manufacturing process using the wood of the holly tree. The Holly Wood Type Company expanded rapidly, and until the 1920s, nearly every headline and large-print poster in the nation was printed with type made in Two Rivers. (Part 5/8)
